How to create a well structured About page for your website

Structuring a winning About page for your business website is simultaneously easy AND hard.

This is because while anyone can slap up an About page in a few minutes, one that grabs attention should not “just” be slapped up.

This article will take you through how to structure a compelling about page as a powerful marketing tool for your small business.

Start with a caprivating image

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Using an image that communicates the right message to your viewers is a great place to start. Images increase reader’s engagement (that thousand word thing). Hence, use a strong visual when setting up your about page.

Include a Welcome Video

This is optional. If you’re having trouble finding a suitable enough image, a short video makes a great substitute.

You can create a short video where you make a brief introduction of yourself, explain the problem you solve, and provide a little information on how you solve it.

State your value to your potential customer

Show how you can make their life easier. Define the problem your customers are experiencing and then present your value proposition. Talk about how you solve it.

Add testimonials

Testimonials are one of the best ways to build trust with your visitors. It falls into the concept of “social proof”. Use  testimonials from satisfied customers or perhaps an employee.

Employee testimonials provide a clear perception of what your small business is made of, and your customer’s testimonials provides proof that others have recommended your business.
