How to build an effective landing page for your business

The quality of your landing pages has a direct and significant impact of it’s conversion rate.

But how do you make sure your small business landing pages are as effective as they can be?

The 1st step is Create a strong headline.

As your visitors are accessing your business website, they should be able to know the value of your landing pages as fast as possible. Good landing page headlines tell your visitors what they will get from your landing page.

The headline must hint at the value to be received and the reason it matters.

Consider the content in your landing pages.

 

Landing pages are for people who are ready to transition from being a website visitor to being a lead. Landing pages exist to capture contact information for people who want more information. The content of the landing page must reflect this.

Identify what the user gets. Keep it short. Make it easy to digest. Bullet points tend to work will for landing pages.

Do NOT overfill your landing pages with too many words. Too many words decreases conversion as some people won’t take the time to read them all.

Check on your conversion path.

If you want your leads to convert then you must make your conversion process an easy process.

Your conversion path should be visually obvious and what action you need them to take should be clear and unambiguous.

Call to action button.

Creating or adding a call to action button is always the last step in creating your landing page. Your call to action button needs to be persuasive.  When creating your call to action, consider the following.

  • Positioning.
  • Implied value. 
  • Language. 

After conversion, display a Thank You page. This both acknowledges to the user that the process completed, and makes it easy to define Destination Goals in Google Analytics.
