Every Small business owner (like you) wanst to drive as much traffic to their website as possible. There are many ways to do this and they have varying costs (time, money, and effort) associated with them.

One of the most interesting is called Inbound Marketing. The main goals of Inbound Marketing are to: 1) Attract visitors to your website, mostly through organic search, and 2) Convert website visitors into leads for your business..

These activities includes the following.

Optimize your website

While there is still a keyword centric aspects to SEO, think more now in terms of topics rather than keywords. For any given blog post decide what keyword phrase you with that post to rank for and use that keyword phrase a few times in the post, and especially in the post title.

Frequently update and create fresh content for your website

While keyword do still matter, frequency of publishing matters more. Publish often. This will help you to increase your rankings on search engines.

Link building

Approach other businesses where you can exchange links. What makes the most sense are businesses with whom you share a customer (for example CPAs and insurance companies) and businesses that don’t compete because of geography (home re modelers working in two different cities).

Social media presence

On your Facebook page and other social media networks, create attractive content that your desired audience will find of value.

Create a personal yet professional LinkedIn profile

LinkedIn has a great feature called groups. Use groups to contribute to discussions and also provide important content. This will raise awareness of you and your business while also attracting eyeballs to content on your website.

The above methods will through consistency and persistence drive traffic to your business website.

While Inbound Marketing doesn’t happen overnight, when you do the work it works for you.
