The AtContent plugin

AtContent: Useful WordPress plugin to help you increase web traffic

You know back links are important to your search ranking and to increasing the traffic to your website.

How do you obtain back links?

You do things for others, who in turn do things for you (the old Golden Rule of do unto others and you would have them do unto you).

Link to others

When each of your blog posts contains an external link to a website of a similar topic, you get search “ju-ju” (and yes, that is a technical term). When you further link to smaller sites, your links to them get noticed. In my experience, approximately every 50 outbound links results in one quality inbound link.

This article is part of a series about local SEO marketing. For access to all the articles in the series, click on the link in the prior sentence.

Guest post

You can offer to create content for other websites. The single biggest search ranking gain is achieved simply by publishing more quality content. When you guest post for someone else, you give them free content. When you give them free quality content, they are very likely to allow you to link back to your site.

The AtContent Plugin

This is where the AtContent plugin comes in.

Prior to the AtContent plugin, guest posting was done primarily in one of two ways:

  1. You create an author account on your website for them.
  2. They email you a file attachment.

Both the above have issues.

I’ve created author accounts for people to create one good post, then later discovered they created one good one and five bad ones. When someone sends you a file attachment, you then need to spend your time pasting it into a blog post, formatting it, finding an image, etc, etc.

The AtContent plugin solves this problem. When both websites run the plugin and are connected to the AtContent services, guest posting becomes as easy as posting. You draft the guest post in your WordPress dashboard and they see it in theirs. They see it EXACTLY as you wrote and formatted it.

This feature of this plugin is so useful I don’t know why it’s not a standard plugin on every default WordPress installation.
