What are the essential elements of a landing page that converts?

Are your landing pages converting as you wish? Here are the basics

What is a landing page?  Why do small businesses need landing pages?

In simple terms, while they are web pages designed for visitors to land when they click a link from some online source (i.e. your blog), what’s important about landing pages is conversion.

But remember your visitors want relevant content to exchange their contact information for.

To develop a proper landing page you need to consider BOTH the design and your offer.

When creating landing pages, think of the following critical elements.

A compelling offer

The most important part of your landing page is what you offer in exchange for the visitors contact information.

The better the offer, the higher the conversion rate.

This is why you see one eBook get more downloads than another. Your landing page form must have fields that allow you to collect information from your prospects.

Strong call to action

After someone lands on your landing page, make it easy for people to know what to do next. That’s where the call to action button comes in.  Make it visually impossible to miss and use wording that makes clear what they get by clicking it.

Design

Make sure your landing pages looks like your brand. Use standard colors and balance your font size just as they are on your website.

One thing never to forget is to make sure you optimize your landing pages for mobile viewing.

This is called “being responsive” where responsive means the page displays well on phones and tablets, as well as in browsers.

In conclusion, a well-designed landing page must incorporate simple key practices in order to convert your visitors to leads.
