Answering “Why Does Your Business Exist?” Benefits your Marketing Campaign

The Story of Marketing

The evidence that understanding Why your business exists is beneficial is that very successful companies not only answer this question, but teach the answer to everyone who comes to work for them. Everyone can answer correctly for some companies.

Apple Computer exists to bring cool and innovative products to the world.

Walmart exists to bring stuff to the world at the lowest possible price.

Why Does YOUR Business Exist?

I’ll use myself as an example.

Inbound Marketing is expensive, and unfortunately is too expensive for small businesses and early stage startups who need it most.

Inbound Marketing University exists to bring the power of this tool to small businesses who otherwise could not afford it.

You want to hire a quality agency? Be prepared to spend $2,500 a month plus.

If you can’t afford that, what are your options?

Be left behind?

Or pay mostly with sweat equity?

Inbound Marketing University helps you do the latter.

Per Simon Sinek, People Buy Because of Your Why

Simon does research on marketing and gave a TED Talk in Sep of 2009 about a discovery he made.

The discovery is people buy because of a businesses Why, much more than their What or How.

His complete talk is below. It’s 18 minutes long, but it’s a great talk.

Again, Why Does Your Business Exist?

Once you know this, you can easily share it with your customers, prospects, and employees.

It will greatly enhance the success of your business.
