    Plugin: Akismet (eliminates SPAM comments)

    Plugin: Broken Link Checker

This lesson shows you how to configure the plusin Akismet by obtaining an Akismet API key (which is free) and configuring it into your Akismet plugin.

    Plugin: Captcha

This lesson shows you how to configure the plugin Captcha which requires everyone trying to login to your system to prove they're human by doing a simple math problem.

This plugin prevents automated password attacks on your system.

    Plugin: Contextually Related Posts

This lesson shows you how to configure the plugin Contextually Related Posts which improves your SEO by displaying titles of other posts at the bottom of each post, thereby increasing the frequency with which your desired keyword phrases appear on each page.

    Plugin: WordFence Security

This lesson shows you how to configure the plugin WordFence Security so your WordPress site has a bit of security configured into it, so it becomes less of a target to bad guys than other WordPress systems on the Internet.

    Plugin: BackupBuddy

BackupBuddy is a commercial plugin that makes it easy to backup and restore your WordPress site. I strongly recommend you purchase this because the free backup plugins are (in my experience) not very reliable and because they're free there is no support.

Regular and reliable backups are important. BackupBuddy is easy to setup and configure, and (in my experience) runs very reliably.

    Your WordPress Theme

Your WordPress theme and the way that theme is configured determines the overall look and feel of your website.

Theme's are important from a user experience perspective and when you can not have menu's appear on specified pages it helps with conversion (and that is a function of the theme) but themes have no bearing on the search results you will experience.
