Turning your visitors into customers through email communication

Staying at the top of your customers mind using email

Why do email marketing? Because it works!

What is meant by works? In this context it means helps turn prospects into customers.

Social media is good for branding. It helps people stay aware of your brand. However studies show social media converts followers into customers.

Email on the other hand converts well.

Why? I personally don’t know, but the fact this is true is more important to me than understanding why. Perhaps it has to do with social media sites not displaying every update to every follower. Perhaps it has to do with how people perceive social media and email are “supposed to be” used.

No matter the reason, as a small business, email communication for you means to create engaging email content that provides value to your audience and customers.

Understanding the right content for your audience is significant to the success of your small business email campaign.

The main point here is to NOT talk about you. They care more about themselves than they care about you. Talk about their problems, and their issues.

Talk about how you help them.

So what are the benefits of using email communication in your small business?

  • By communicating with your customers through email regularly, you get some feedback. Based on this information, your small business is able to make adjustments to your offerings, your marketing focus, etc.
  • With frequent email communication (frequent being weekly for mass email newsletters), you stay at the front of your audience’s minds. You keep communication with your customers so as they do not forget about you and how you might be able to help them.

Therefore, your communication strategy should include email.

You can start off with something easy, for example a newsletter, then later get more sophisticated through the use of segmentation or marketing automation.

But the main thing is to start.

Let your small business utilize the value of email while communicating with your audience.
