Content marketing continues to grow.
Over 85% of all marketers (small businesses and big) use content as an important part of their marketing. But to reach significant content marketing results (attracting more visitors, increasing conversion etc.) you need to make continuous improvements.
Remember, content marketing is not magic. It requires investment. It requires effort.
Creating a few blog posts and/or having a couple of videos is not “content marketing”. To stay on top, you need continuous creativity, you need to maintain a cadence, and a way of measuring your content success.
Keyword is storytelling.
As an example below is a YouTube video to an Adidas “commercial” made by a German student. The word commercial is in quotes because it’s not an Adidas commercial, but probably should be.
This video tells a story.
Providing real entertainment and/or educational value to your audience with short videos helps attract an audience. Be creative to attract more visitors.
Create your own podcast. This is a great way of how you can evolve from just an interruption advertisement to become a provider of useful content. Good podcasts increases engagements with the audience. Crappy podcasts are a dime a dozen, so if you’re going this route, focus on both quality content and quality production.
Hire content expertise
People with expertise are sometimes bad writers. That’s OK. There are writers out there willing to help. Connect with them. With your help they need to strike the right balance between quality and quantity of your content.
The “trick” in working with topic experts who are not writers and writers who are not topic experts is for them to work together.
The topic experts provides an outline. The writer fills out the article. The expert provides feedback. They go back and forth. When it’s ready, you publish it.
Embrace content analytics
Content marketing comes with various incredibly useful analytics. Google Analytics and Google Search Console come immediately to mind.
Google Analytics provides a clear map of how different channels are driving engagement with your content. Use these tools to better understand and optimize your content.
Keep publishing, focus on quality, and maintain a persistent and consistent publishing schedule.
