How to provide Visual content for small business success

Small businesses are seeing benefits to a content marketing strategy.

As a small business owner, it’s important that you not be left behind.

A focus on a content strategy reaps enormous rewards relative to the cost.

However….. Content is not just about articles and text. Some people (generally older people) love the written word, but others find visual content more meaningful and easy to digest.

Examples of visual content are…

Use of Info graphics

 

Well done infographics can help convey complex ideas in simple terms, but some people over do them. Don’t generate infographics for the sake of infographics, but there are instances where infographics are the best tool to convey information.

A good example of this is a flow chart.

eScreenshots

Screenshots allow you to be very specific in providing detailed information.

On your screenshots, pleases include arrows or place circles on important point to emphasize what you want your audience to get. This makes them easier to read.

Pictures

Adding an image to your blog posts not only provides something visual to attract attention, but a great image and help express a concept in the same way that a good infographic can.

Videos

Sometimes the best way to convey information is via video. Maybe you’re talking into the camera and emphasizing an important point. Maybe you’ve created a screencast video to provide a detailed How To instruction.

Video can be an effective way to provide information (to teach) but as with other forms of visual content, don’t over do it. As with blog posts most videos should be short and to the point.

 

In summary, your small business should incorporate visual content into your content marketing. When selecting a form, ask yourself how can you best present the information, then let that guide your choice of format.
