Demand for content marketing for your small businesses is continuing to increase every week.
However, this increased need for content brings new challenges for small businesses.
With a full schedule, it can be hard to find ways to produce more content on your website.
Some people find themselves scrambling at the last minute to produce content per their self imposed (and appropriate) deadlines.
So how do you repurpose your content?
Here is how…
Update old? New format?
One method is to rewrite old posts. This works because in time since the post was initially published, things have changed. For that reason old posts need periodic updating.
Another method is to take content that was published in one format and publish it in another. For example you may have a blog post on a certain topic. You can record a short video (even if that video is you talking to the camera) making the same point or providing the same answer.
That video gets posted to your YouTube channel, and that YouTube video gets embedded into another blog post. This works because while you’re answering the same question or making the same points, you’re doing so in a different way using different words.
Dig out your evergreen content
It’s important that what you repurpose is still relevant. Repurpose content that is not old and dated and is still of value to your target audience.
Recycle the content that attracted most engagements because chances are that they will perform as well the second time around when you target the same personas.
Use new stats
Sometime we create content with statistics. When you read that content you feel that you did some good work but the statistics arenow old. You should repurpose this content with new statistics to more easily grab your reader’s attention.
Test different content formats
Get to your target audience by using as many formats as you can.
Try turning your:
- Blogs into an infographic
- Infographics into a white paper
- White papers into a webinar
As a small business, re purposing your content works.
